Mesa U college station breaks University Center barrier

The Grand Junction Sentinel notes a positive development for Colorado Mesa University’s KMSA, perhaps stemming from its inclusion in the mtvU Woodie top 25 College Radio Station list. The campus has begun airing the station in its University Center.

“They’re finally playing us on the second floor now,” KMSA general manager Kyle Cooper told the newspaper. Cooper suspects that the frequency’s predilection for “harder rock and alternative music” may have delayed this decision (until now). “But we must be doing something right,” he added.

As Jennifer Waits noted earlier, voting will continue until February 27 at 9am Pacific time to pare the top 25 down to the top 10. The winner will be disclosed in Austin at a ceremony being held at SXSW on March 18, 2012. You can input your choice here.
