At last, audio clip goes viral (and of course it’s about a cat)

Late last month Paul Riismandel wondered why audio so rarely goes viral, especially in comparison to videos.

“Will audio ever go viral like a cat video, and what would it take?” he asked Radio Survivor readers.

Well, Paul’s answer has arrived. Here is a recording of a Portland, Oregon family calling 911 in fear of a 22 pound out-of-control cat.

The owner of Lux the Cat, a Himalayan, says the feline attacked his child after the infant pulled its tail. The UK Guardian reports that the toddler only sustained minor scratches, but the kitty’s ferocity gave the household a huge scare.

Looks like Lux is getting a second chance, however. “We’re not getting rid of him right now,” Lux owner Lee Palmer says. “He’s been part of our family for a long time.” Vet support and a cat shrink are being summoned. Good luck to everybody (especially Lux), and thanks for the viral audio.
