I may go back further than most, to the Al Collins days, Jazzbo....and the sounds of Count Bassie over the late night in the slot later given to Ray T. I, too, have deleted KGO after all these years and hope to find a replacement.

Well with keeping Ron Owens there's one thing Cumulus didn't accomplish, raising it's overall I.Q.
This station can no longer offer any credible advice when "they" introduce themselves by way of a lie, know one wanted another KCBS. Right-wing radio is in a slow death spiral, the demographics for listeners who like Rush/Hannity are dwindling. The old white angry racists male and female (mostly male though) are finally going to there "Plantation in the Sky"!
Thank you to all the enlightenment we once counted on from the old and great KGO and now to change my preset button.

It's sad to see that colleges are letting their radio stations go the way of film. A radio station is more than just an aging media, as people seem to see it. It is about the opportunity the stations provides to It's participants and the services the station provides to their respective communities. Keep on fighting for your college stations.......They are important.

I have been listening to this station since the 1970s And I just cannot believe what you have done. I traveled for a living and listen to talk shows all over the country and most are so right wing with one way of looking at things I just mentioned to someone on of of my trips how refreshing it is to listen to talk shows in the Bay Area, because I look at all sides of the issues. And also realize this world is about everyone not just one type of people. I will never listen to KGO, radio again. And actually I am embarrassed for all of Bay Area. A lost for words

kgo is a flame thrower - it can be listened to farther than any other station on the west coast. I had a gut feeling that when the OWS topic, CARB, and many other things traveled the airwaves from Alaska to South America and beyond these people would get the rollers put under them.

I am at a total loss for words! This must be what it's like to have people who are like family, people you trust and care about wisked away with a stroke of a pen. I fell like someone kicked me in the stomach. We will never forget the old format! As for the new one... fill in the blank.

A listener for many years to KGO talk Radio, I too am saddened by the changes, for the hosts of the shows were exemplars, in many instances, of the Art of communication and dialogue, not excluding humor and reason, as well. I will miss Dr. Bill's enlightening discourses (his brillant mind would often open up with humorous jokes and witty retorts) on technical matters. KGO had a connection with the Bay Area, like a trusted friend, with whom a Bay Area resident could feel the emotions of the hosts and callers as important events took place, alive with living ,local color. KGO Radio had the carisma and it's own kind of perfection, maybe defining blemishes, that made it unique, like the Beatles,as a group working together.
