Radio Survivor Podcast #14 – The Grassroots Radio Conference & Celebrating College Radio Day

We learn about the origins of College Radio Day, coming up on October 2, and what is in store for this year’s celebration. We also talk with the organizers of this year’s Grassroots Radio Conference at new low-power FM station WLPP in Palenville, New York, which is also the country’s first Pagan-owned radio station.

In Lasar’s Letter on Radio Matthew recalls how Mae West was singled out and censored by her corporate radio bosses. In College Radio Watch Jennifer updates us about Rice University’s former station which is up for sale again, and Georgia State University’s WRAS, which has been partially taken over by Georgia Public Radio. Finally, Paul gets off on a rant about entitlement in podcasting.
