Post-shutdown LPFM application deadline extended to Nov. 14

#LPFMNow that the FCC is back in business and clearing out its queue the deadline for low-power FM applications has been extended to November 14 at 6 PM ET(PDF), two weeks later than the original October 29 date. This is shorter than what a group of LPFM advocacy has hoped for–they asked for an extension equal to the length of the shutdown plus one week.

That means qualified groups that are seeking a non-commercial LPFM license have just under 3 weeks to finish and submit their applications.

To assist, the FCC has rescheduled for October 24, from 1 – 2:30 PM ET, the LPFM webinar that was supposed to happen during the shutdown. This will be dedicated primarily to answering questions from applicants submitted by email to or posted to twitter with the hashtag #LPFMquestions.
