Prometheus crowdfunding to support LPFM build-out

Prometheus Radio logoIf all goes right this October’s LPFM licensing window will result in a pile of construction permits issued to promising new community radio stations. Prometheus Radio Project is looking forward to supporting those new stations, launching its first crowd funding campaign with indiegogo to help support these burgeoning broadcasters.

Prometheus’ goal is to raise $20,000 by October 9 to help support the most promising groups who have successful LPFM applications. The funding will help Prometheus support its engineering and technical team, hold at least 10 online technical trainings, coordinate regional hands-on trainings for new stations, and dedicate staff time for individual station support.

The group has also published a very comprehensive Resources and Tools page at its website.

Donors who contribute $25 get their very own “Broadcaster Badge” they can wear more proudly than Deputy Dawg. Contributions of $100 or more merit thanks in a video from the Prometheus staff.

But the real payoff is knowing that you’re helping support the next wave of noncommercial community radio.
