Ralph Barbieri case will go to trial, confirms Angela Alioto

Tolbert (L) and Barbieri (bayareasportsguy.com)

We have not heard the last words of Ralph Barbieri.

The sports radio personality who formerly teamed with Tom Tolbert on KNBR 680 is moving full steam ahead in his wrongful termination lawsuit against Cumulus Radio.  Barbieri believes he was wrongly dismissed after disclosing to his bosses that he contracted Type 2 Diabetes and Parkinson’s disease.  The 66 year old was let go after 28 years with the organization.

According to his lawyer, Angela Alioto, depositions are under way and a trial date has not been set.  Barbieri is not retired and would like to resume his broadcasting career.  Considering his fan base and accolades, the man nicknamed “The Razor” should be an attractive commodity.
